Afternoon Gents,
Not looking forward to doing this but needs must. Regrettable its time to sell my Second Coupe due to new job prospects and the cost of retraining.
Spec:
Dakar Yellow 2000, S50, 70,000 miles, 11 months mot, 5 months tax, full black leather, Harmon Kardon Speakers, electric/heated seats, sunroof, ACS suspension, ACS short shift and Remus Cat back exhaust system and all other Coupe refinements. The car still has the full tool kit, sealed first aid kit and M\\\ tyre inflator. It has Dunlop sports on the front and continental contact sport 2’s on the rear both with plenty of tread
The car has extensive full bmw service history with thousands of pounds worth of receipts and the service book is fully up to date. It’s also had bmw’s extended warranty package from May 2002 until May 2011, looking at the history and speaking to the previous owner bmw have replaced anything that had a fault with no hesitation or attempt to repair. Major things are as follows:
2008 - Rear ACS springs replaced, Differential speed sensor and a new battery
2009 - New gearbox and clutch @ 56084 miles
2010 - Water pump, Power steering pump/rack andboth belts replaced @ 56477 miles

02/08/2008 - Coolant and brakes @ 55516 miles Lloyd BMW

During April and May I have stripped the rear end removing the exhausts, heat shields, suspension and rear beam assemble. All parts have been sand blasted and re painted. I have replaced all suspension bushes including the differential mounting bush, replacing the rear beam bushes with stiffer poly bushes. The brake calipers have been stripped and seals replaced, the Remus exhausts have been polished and every single nut and bolt has been replaced with receipted original bmw parts at a cost of £533.36. It really is like new. Whilst the rear end had been stripped I removed the under seal to check the boot floor, there are no signs of failed welds or cracks (picture evidence if required). It’s been re under sealed and painted yellow. Last month the car also went through a full detail including a clay bar, 3 stages of machine polish and 2 coats of collinate.
Some before and after pictures:
Rear beam sandblasted and repainted
Refurbed Caliper
Exhaust before and after
boot floor undersealed and painted with refurbished heat shields fitted
Rear beam and diff fitted
The bad bits:
The interior is very tidy bar the usual wear on the drivers seat bolster. The exterior is very clean with the odd stone chip on the front bumper and the wheels could probably do with a refurbishment but this is not a big or expensive job. The car rarely comes out in the rain and is always kept in a dry garage. Since I have owned the car I have had no faults with it bar a snapped throttle cable. I change the oil and filter when I bought the car in May 2011 and will also do the same this weekend including the vanos filter and screws.
With this in mind and its extensive Bmw service history I am after £10,995
I may swap for a very cheap high mileage E46 m3 + Cash but it would have to be cheap !
Really don’t want to be selling it after spending so much money rebuilding the rear but I can’t afford to retrain/move jobs without selling the car and i cant sell the mrs's
Pistonheads ad to follow and some recent pictures of the car
Cheers
