  • rear subframe bushings ??/

    Hi chaps,wanting to replace my rear subframe bushings and then install the small tabs,what i need to know is do the big bushes come out easily or will i need a retracting tool etc,the bushes in question are the ones in front of the rear wheel...any advice would be appreciated i have the bushes and the tab's ready to go in..its the removal bit that i am concerned about??? thanks in advance,Mel.

          Mel,

          You need a separate bush removal tool to remove both the subframe and trailing arm bushes.

          I removed my rear subframe off the car when I did this job and removed the subframe bushes by the "ghetto method" (i.e burnt them out). For the TABs I made my own extractor tool from a short piece of pipe and a long bolt and nut. I found that the nuts on the trailing arms were an absolute swine to undo: they are highly torqued and are self locking, PLUS the access to the outboard ones is difficult.

            Cheers Ex...i think i might just give this a swerve for a while then,,i have had them checked and there did not seem to be any movement in them what so ever! so thanks to all anyway! cheers. Mel.
