    Hi All,

Back end of last year finally purchased a Z3M Coupe. Titanium Silver E50 2000build with less than 37k miles and full service history.
Deserves a good home so clearing out the garage. Still getting to know him/her not figured out which yet. Even with a FSH, don't know how it was used; was it raced, worked hard etc, so for the car's sake as well a mine would like to have someone/specialist or a member to look it over/inspect it.
Live in Swindon (no jokes please) does anyone know or recommend a specialist say within a 50 mile radius who can do this job? We would both (Z3M and me) appreciate any advice.

http://www.redish-automotive.co.uk/ are good. I recently used them to do a Ins 2 on mine.

Based in Bristol so 40 miles or so from you. They have a great reputation and tend to be very busy so you'll need to book work in approx 6 weeks ahead.

Hi, no have not heard of them but am based just outside Bristol so Reading would be out of my hunting ground for garages. I am sure others may have come across them.

Best of luck with the hunt

May be a bit further than you'd want to travel, but previous owner of my MC swore [in a good way] by Mark Purcell in Oxford.

Hi Maph. Booked the car at Redish who did a post purchase inspection. Thankfully no big issues, a couple of minor oil leaks and rear axle beam bushes soft. Changed gearbox and diff oils. Presented photos and report of all issues and had a good chat to James and one of his mechanics Would have liked them to have given the car a run. As you said they are busy, so you have to give him a bit of a reminder to respond. The place is crammed full of M cars. Just as well there is a retail park nearby whilst they are working on the car.
                        Thanks again for the recommendation

Good to hear you went there and they gave it a fairly clean bill of health.

They seem to be very thorough, which in itself is very reassuring when driving a 17 year old car that still moves pretty quickly

                            Which Battery??

Need to replace the battery for my S50. Have read through a lot of threads on the subject all of which favour the Bosch S5. This is rated at 77 ah and 780 cca. The current BMW battery is rated at 70 ah with 680 cca.
Do not have the know how to understand whether a higher rated Bosch S5 would be an advantage or detrimental to the car's electronic system. For example would higher current applied to the starter motor cause potential damage?
Hope you can provide some guidance
