Glass is around £300 from BMW but seal is very expensive and only used on the Coupes, glass is either clear or top tint and the same as roadsters I think

I've had a few screens on mine due to big stone chips. Great having new screens as vision is crystal clear! Ive used insurance, just sometimes takes a few attempts until they understand the seal is BMW only and unique to the Coupe.

Just to be clear, windscreen seals are M Coupe only.

If you go through your insurance and the screen requires replacing, they will do the seal if you push them.

When mine was done back in 2007, they initially sent a z3 roadster seal, then something else then eventually rac windscreens conceding that I was correct.

had mine done by a friend of a friend, which was a result as bmw quoted 300 for screen and £200 for seal.i was told by the fitters that my seal was good so was re used and total bill with top tint was £160.to be honoust i would rather of had new seal and suspect that they did not have one with them.its only when you get a new screen you realise how bad the old one was especially when sun is low.

Yep, insurance covers your screen without penalty. That is unless you have a penchant for a BMW logo etched so small it's not noticeable. Glass is glass for me, most likely made in the same place just not with the logo stamped on it. And it's not like you're taking the piss, if the screen needs replacing, it needs replacing. I've had a couple on my car due to stone chips too large to fix.

Like Jess said, if your screen is original it will be a whole new world with a new window fitted

One thing that car glass fitters sometimes do is fit a universal gasket if they haven't got the correct part, I saw this recently on a M Coupe .
