  • New Listing - Members Silver S50 - Rare Colour Combo

I'm putting my much loved Z3M Coupe on the market.

My personal circumstances have now changed with a baby on the way and moving to a new apartment with limited parking.

I purchased the car back in Jan 2015 from a French BMW enthusiast who had purchased the car in 2012 from a previous UK forum owner (see the forum link below to my purchase) and I have used the car as my daily driver ever since. I've covered just over 21,500 miles in it since then. Unfortunately for me 90% of them were on the motorway but I’ve still had a blast!

The current mileage is c. 106,500 and this will increase slightly as it is used daily.

The cars engine is solid and pulls well through out all gears. Its has been very well looked after throughout its journey so far by a host of BMW main dealers and independent specialists most recently by West 3 BMW Specialists in West London who last serviced and MOT’d it on 11/11/16 (4 greens lights left)

    Service history:

Please note the car is not in concours condition as it is a daily driver. There is some rusting on the drivers side sill as well as some other minor marks.

A local mechanic has offered me £22,000 for it but he wants to tidy it up and sell it on.

I would much prefer it to go to for a bit more and to a good known home to be enjoyed by a fellow forum member.

The link posted at the top shows the pics from when I purchased. Please note the sticker has been removed from the wind screen and the car put back on to UK plates.

I will try and up load recent pictures of the car over the next few days.

I’m based Putney, SW London and pretty flexible for viewings as I work from home.

The car is currently not advertised anywhere else as I am looking for a simple straight forward transaction.

Please DM for my mobile number if you are interested in purchasing and have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them!

Just to say good luck with the sale, I have seen this around west London before - I recognise the plate. Nice car.

                Thanks Rags.

Yes its a great car and I have to say I thought it would have generated more interest than it has on here.

I'd be interested in peoples opinion as to why the car is not selling, is there information in the advert I have missed, is it the time of year or is it simply the price?

Although there are people on here saying they're looking from time to time, it will be a fraction of the customer market compared to putting it on ebay or autotrader or pistonheads etc.

Personally I would trim the back story down, just get the basic spec, service history etc. And I would take some different photos/angles with nicer light (no flash) in a nicer location.

I think you should remove the stuff about a mechanic tidying it up etc.

Also, whilst it's good to be honest with the condition don't forget that a car of this age will not be mint!

If it was me, I would get some of the items rectified and revert the exhaust to standard.

If I was looking, I would be seeking a well cared for original car with factory extras. Any (and I mean any) mods should not be flagged in the advert and if possible removed from the car. For example, an OEM (illuminated) gear nob is a feature of these cars and should be there. Same with brakes, exhaust etc.
Much can be gleaned by the condition/cleanliness under bonnet.
The car seems fairly priced in the current market. Hope these opinions help and good luck.
S54 Titan Silver metallic. Black leather, most factory options including sunroof, Becker Cascade and Becker Silverstone changer.

I cant see anything wrong with the advert or pricing or the fact that a expensive dealer option short shift has been fitted to the car and the Remus exhaust may be seen as a bonus to many buyers,

these cars generally don't sell quickly so maybe some new pictures as mentioned may help but I wouldn't do anything more than be patient.

                            Thanks for the advice everybody.

I'll take some more pics in a better light over the next few days

I'll also advertise on more sites and reduce the story as mentioned.

Then I'll be patient and see what happens.

Don't think the weather was helping.

Another tactic would be to take it to a coffee and cars meet or similar.

I had two offfers on the spot from people.

Or why not sell to the mechanic?
