  • z3 alarm problem

    Hi , I am having major problems with my alarm going off at all times without any apparant reason.Whether the roof is down or up,doors locked or unlocked , driving or parked it just goes off.The lights aren't flashing ,just the alarm siren.Can anyone help..please.Can i swittch alarm off completely until i find out what is causing problem....thanks

      Try the bonnet sensor, give it a good clean or replace (£6), this was a major problem on mine

        I had same problem a while back, turned out to be the bonnet sensor for the alarm.

        As per previous post, spray with WD40 or replace (I just needed to spray mine).

        A neighbour with another Z3 had same problem, told him the same thing, problem went away.

            It's that little black switch in the photo below, on the flat metal part immediately in front of the airbox and to the right of the radiator. Pull the switch up and clean all the dust off it with a little brush and some tissue as well as lubricating it. It's the dust that collects around it which is the problem.

              Ah nice one... have had problems of regular false alarms, will give the bonnet sensor a clean/lube and see if that helps :)
