Nice, how much did it cost?

    Any performance benefits without remapping?

      Very nice!

Is it a genuine CSL carbon intake? (cant view the clip at work, will ahve to look forward to the noise when I get home!)

        Looking good!

Speak to the fella's at Bromlow Motorsport (site sponsors) if you want carbon airboxes. They have some really tasty options for this.

The total cost was about 2000 Euros including remapping with Alpha-N (no more MAF sensor). The airbox is not a CSL clone, the air filter is located just above the brake vent and connected via an angled silicone hose for a cold air intake.

Power output is 342 HP on a trusty dyno, in stock condition (on a different dyno) the output was around 320 HP. Redline is now set at 8.000 RPM.

The riding impression is quite good with strong and steady power buildup, combined with sharper throttle response and more agressive/faster revving midrange and top end. No issues in city traffic, stop and go or cold starting either.

          Quite happy so far
          regards

Very nice! Make sure you use the newer bearing shells with an 8000rpm redline.

Indeed. I beleve you are looking at about £800ish to have these uprated - but for piece of mind it's a must-do IMO.

And more to the point, stronger con-rod bolts.

The bearing shells have already been replaced with the upgraded ones, the bolts are stock. I do not intend to use that extra 400 rpm too often , so I should be fine. The oil pump was also replaced by the latest version, as well as cams and finger followers due to hardening issues. Hope she´ll hold up now

Thanks, but to be honest I don´t think so (without having ever tried).

The GT3 has far better aerodynamics, so this should be no match in higher speed ranges.

I´ll try anyway and report as soon as the opportunity is there

Has moving to the carbon airbox made any difference to your fuel consumption (other than wanting to drive it faster!)?

Its a boring question I know but with fuel prices the way they are in the UK its a consideration!
