  • BMWCC Valuations

    Hi guys

Has anyone had a valuation carried out by BMWCC? I've just sent off a mountain of photographs, all mots since new, service history etc. to them today. Has anyone else had this done?

I'm going to do this in the next month or so as my renewal is due at end of March. I've downloaded the valuation form and need a nice dry day so I can take a bunch of photographs so I'd be interested how long the process takes from now till you get your valuation. Not sure if DaveP has had his done by BMWCC or not, but I sure someone on this Forum has had it carried out.
I'm sure they will let you know in due course.

It's a lot of paperwork to scan and send off but to be fair it's good to have it all on file in the computer should anything happen to the originals. The girl at BMWCC was very helpful and said it could take up to 6 weeks to come back, although she said it never takes that long.

I intend to keep the car indefinitely but it's good to have the valuation should the worst happen.

I'm almost more interested in their valuation process. What is it, a panel of guys sifting through your stuff, nodding knowingly while rubbing their chins and angering a few hundred either way based on various parameters? Dead curious.

I expect we can all come up with roughly the same price but it's obvs better to have it from a recognised bunch.

Apparently they send it to a Z3m coupe specialist, although I've no idea who.

I know what my car is worth based on current market prices so I'm fairly confident they will agree. The only problem is the mods, my car is fitted with immaculate 19" type 3 racing wheels, ACS spoiler and front splitters, carbon fibre induction, AP racing big brakes and period Becker satnav / stereo. I've also spent 7k over the past 3 years on restoration.

          I'll keep you guys updated

Had mine done by BMWCC last September. Took 4/5 weeks to process as I recall.
The valuation was actually done by Alan Jones ("Z register captain") who contacted me during the process to confirm some details.

You end up with an Agreed Value Certificate that reflects their opinion of a fair market value.

            £25 well spent IMO.

They will look at current for sale adverts on Pistonheads etc

When another of my cars got nicked I was offered what I felt a below average price by the insurer. I refused and took it to the ombudsman. Essentially I just drew a graph of all the cars for sale with mileage v price and drew an average line then marked on my mileage to provide a fair valuation. The ombudsman agreed with my suggestion and told the insurer to pay up. I appreciate extras and condition clearly come into it but I disregarded some cars due to 'cat C', etc. Equally I plotted cars with a similar spec to mine

The whole process was a bit time consuming (the decision not the work) but did give me belief in the system

Don't wanna get on the old price bus for too long, but there is only 1 RHD S54 on Pistonheads and it's 69k! 69K!!!

Just read the Piston heads advert, there are some significant factual errors in the write up.

There are, yes. 30 mins research would clear that up, amazing people don't take the time.

Got the valuation back at the weekend and I'm very happy with it.
The valuation is roughly where i thought it would be and reflects the condition and rarity of the car. £30 well spent.
