        "availability_on_request"

I really wonder if they can actually get units. Maybe they have a service or do their own. I bought a new facia from them a few years ago to have that absolute mint feel.

Regarding the Becker 2430 vs BMW 2450/55 functions. I dismantled a older BE2455 I had laying around. Hidden away under a cover, I found an EPROM (not EEPROM). Ancient stuff basically with a "2455 V1.0" label on it. The cover so it seems is to protect it from UV light, which clears the EPROM's memory.
Obviously the BE2430 also has one. Now I could dump both roms and then look through all the data so see where the differences are to 'unlock' the functions. But it has such limited memory. maybe that's the reason, maybe it is possible. The 2455 RDS modules do support it as I have swapped ROMS. Except the needed ibus protocol (so no MFL and no iBUS MP3 devices).

But without any datasheet of what is where in the code, this will probably be a mission impossible. While it feels like being so close!

                    • That’s pretty appealing tbh.
Nearly bought the new Blaupunkt sqr dab which looks fantastic, but it’s been slated on a few German sites for quality and performance and isn’t cheap by any stretch.
This is different to just getting a Bluetooth module off eBay then - with better integration etc.
S54 Seca Blue - ACS Short shift and Exhaust. Luverly.

Yep, I’ve had a look too and thought they looked appealing. Couldn’t find any prices though?

                        • Nothing wrong with a (good) BT external device from the likes of Dension. Just a different method.

The mentioned Blaupunkt is nice, but doesn't match the rest of the interior is the factory units do. Although in the Z3 it's less of an issue than in my E36 cab, where the climate controls sit directly beneath it.
