good for you, I'm 24 and pay 760 with 2 yrs no claims so the first quote seems ridiculous.

I'm really not impressed with insurers lately, my premiums keep going up despit my no claims increasing! They keep telling me its my home address which has increased in risk. I tried some different postcodes in Elephant and the difference is staggering, maybe i should move to the countryside!

Yep, this sounds familiar. Kind of confirms what I already suspected. When I first asked for a quote from Adrian Flux they asked me the same question. I said no one else had quoted, so they asked me what I would expect to pay! That was my opportunity to pluck a figure out of the air as you did, but I wished now I'd aimed a bit lower. I suggested £750 as that seemed right based on what I'd read on these forums - and guess what, they quoted about £10 cheaper than that.

            I moved from a BD17 to a BD10 in Bradford. T

The move from BD17 to BD10 is quite significant, BD10 is aful and has one of highest car crime figures in the UK (the post code area is a long strip with one half in really nice highstreet and new build suburbs and one half includes a really run down council estate that seems to influence insurance rates for the whole area).

Back to the point I was charged no extra by my insurance company and my premium even came down this year.

They don't come up on any comparrison sites I know off but very reputable, specialise in VW and Audi but have good rate on German cars.

Allow any modifications and have an agreed value scheme (at no extra cost) to allow for cost of modifications etc... Guy comes round and goes through what you have doen takes alot of photos etc... realize book value comes no where near and then you agree a figure.

I pay £40.85 a month which includes £250 excess with Barclays Bank.

I did this online. It printed £250 excess on the printout. But when the schedule came through post it said £650. I phoned Barclays and told them my printout said £250 and they re-did the schedule. So at moment its a not too bad offer.

              Anyone got cheaper????

                Wish it was £40.85 a month been 23 insuring a group 20 car isn't cheap! £130 a month.

When I was originally looking for this car was torn between my M Coupe and a Alpina Roadster S but they would not touch on me on anything Alpina (blessing in desguise, love my M Coupe)

Although I don't have a Z3MC, owning a heavily modified Skoda means that most insurers wont touch it, and thats a severe disadvantage I've found. Last year I paid £750(ish), and my renewal came out as £780. So I phoned around and around until I had it down to £660. I then phoned the broker again and they gave me a renewal at £650. I went back to the lowest quote again and got another fiver off... along with the warning that they wouldn't continue to undercut the quotes

In the end I got my current broker to undercut that yet again and am now paying £640/year.

It pays to phone around and once you can't get it cheaper, to call your current insurer.

                    Awooga!!!

Sadly I beg to differ on that... I've been insuring cars with HIC for a good 5 years now and had upto 3 cars with them all in my name with them mirroring the NCB across (one was an out and out track car, cage etc.) and were simply awesome in that respect...

Then came the M Coupe and a quick call to them they wanted £350 to move my policy to onto that for the remaining 3 months! A bit more chatting and they came back to say they the best they could do on a full years policy (31 with 7yrs NCB)was around £1200!!!!! Being real people they knew that was rubbish but admitted that their underwritters BMW's...

Long and short of it was they passed me over to Adrian Flux (who now own HIC it turns out) who gave me a cracking quote a fair bit less than the rest and that's where I've gone to... then the top boys at HIC did release my NCB to go on the Coupe (sending me the paperwork) but happily mirrored it across from Flux as they are essentially the same company.

Bit of a waffle there but thought it may be helpful/interesting!

I know but thats what comes with living in Leeds/Bradford area, everything is the the same even House Insurance is nuts and live in what is considered nice area.

I friends who pay alot more on M3 Evos and e46 330ci so was pretty impressed especially as it took me few weeks to even get it down to that.
