      hi Dave,

Apologies for bringing up an old thread, but was just wondering how you managed to change the bulb on your light that you sold...was it a hard job?

I've got a few light bulbs out and thought i'd have to get the whole light enclosure but if it's possible to just change the bulbs it could save me a few quid!

It was pretty easy but would be a lot easier with a solder sucker (which I don't have) worth a go as the new light assembly is expensive

Any chance you remember the bulbs that you used?

I bought the genuine bulbs with the bent tails,

not sure of the dealer price but bmminiparts have them on ebay,

Thanks for the heads up - will try and give it a shot when i get a chance!

The assembly should just pop out right?

Yes its held in by two spring clamps one either side. To remove push a flat head screwdriver( Bentley guide says use plastic pry tool) into slot at either end and this should free the complete light assembly.

                  Hi mate,

Did you do this in the end. I've just noticed a few of mine are gone so need to get sorted.

                  Cheers,

                  David.

TIS guide for removing light assembly,

what it doesn't show is the first step which is to use a flat head screwdriver or thin plastic pry tool inserted in either end of the lamp to free one end at a time.

Thanks for the help on this Dave - all sorted.

Had 2 bulbs out. The ones you linked to are identical, so 45 mins of fiddling about and it's sorted - very satisfying.

                          Cheers,

                          David.
