Hi guys,
My cars in for some work to sort a number of issues at main dealer and got the initial findings back this morning.
Oil leak is from a pressure hose somewhere - covered by warranty
There's an ABS sensor alert somewhere in the diagnositcs - covered by warranty
They can't pick up the same steering play I find (tends to be with a bit of speed and bumpy roads to be fair so they probably couldn't replicate the conditions) and suggested tracking work for £226+VAT. I figure that's possibly about right price but suspect I'd be better served spending the same at a specialists (Thorney Motorsport?) than a main dealer.
Drivers window sticks and sometimes won't open at all - I've done the silicon spray thing and it eases the problem but doesn't fix it - and the dealer wants to charge me for an hours labour to fix a pre-tension issue as an adjustment. I've suggested it's actually a warranty fix as it's a part that is broken.... they're going to get back to me on that.
The elusive rattle is being put down to a "suspected split in the manifold", but because I have the ACS exhaust I accept it's maybe not warranty covered. However they want me to advise if the manifold is an ACS part or not - I'm sat in the office and they're stood under the car - sounds like they'll charge me finding out. Thing is... I can't tell them as I don't know.
Given that the other dealership I purchased from didn't know what the suspension set up was either I'm finding already that the dealerships just don't know\understand the car (or do what you ask them to - I ended up fixing the gear shift issue myself).
Guess I should pay someone a little more in the know to check the car over (post sales check) and catalogue the components and preferably talk me through them. Where do folks in Hampshire take theirs?
Cheers
