  • Isolator switch.

Evening all. My Coupe appears to have some form of electrical leak, as the battery dies in short time, and when I disconnect it and reconnect, it sparks like buggery.

As my car is in storage for large chunks of time, and I don't like the idea of trickle chargers, I've wired up an isolator switch between the chassis earth and battery.

I just wanted to let everyone know that it's incredibly easy, is completey reversible, and only cost about £20 in wires, a switch and connectors.

It's just much easier than disconnecting the battery every time I put it away for a couple of weeks.

I suppose it also adds a further level of security!

Ha, well timed. I didn't see Indy's thread as i am on mob.

Off topic, but what is the third button on my key? has a light symbol on it. Thought it might do headlights, but it doesn't.

it is to switch the interior light on by remote.

it will only work when the car is locked, if you have it set to switch on when you open the door.

i also didnt know what it was and was told by another member on here

i never have the interior light switched on, unless i need it.

Ah okay, thanks. Seems a bit pointless! I feel they could've used the key space better. Hehe.
