  • oh no, broken ACS spring

One of my rear springs has broken :(

Unfortunately the springs are AC Schnitzer, which will probably be more difficult to source. I'm guessing my best option is to contact Rossiters.

Just checking here on the off-chance anyone has a spare! Also do you know if they offered different height/rate options or just the one type? And should I replace both rears at the same time? They've probably done 40k.

    Cheers

    Piers

Piers, I may be able to help out here. I've a complete spare set of ACS road suspension. Now, while I'm not selling any of it, c_w mentioned a place near Sheffield that he was considering using to make some new springs, based on the measurements taken from the spares I have. Let me know if of interest and I can arrange to have one of the rears measured up so they can make you 2 new ones up. c_w may be along shortly with the Company's details.
Not actually in the least bit fat

I'm not sure, but I don't think pie boy has the full acs shock and spring setup.
Maybe just the lowering springs alone (possibly white ones?) with oem shocks.
So prob arent same as your ones

Schnitzer did two setups (Road and Race) so make sure same set if applicable ;-)

Slightly off topic but those with ACS or Bilstein shocks you can get them rebuilt and its not that expensive - I can get contact details if needed.

Pieboy, you don't have much luck with rear springs do you!!!

As Fattony said, I was thinking of getting some custom springsmade up using the ACS as a basis, the price they quote was somethinkg like £150/set.

haha, and weirdly it's always on the driver's side :)

C_W / Fat Tony - very interested to hear about getting springs made up. Good call, and thanks for letting me know.

I'll have to get under the car today and check the part numbers (if legible). Otherwise will take some measurements. It is the full shock/spring setup btw.

                      I will be back!

Shock setup as the "racing" coilover version or the ASC road? It's not Chippy's old setup is it?
