They talk about disc from E46 M3, nothing about OEM disc 315mm

Theoretically you can put any calipers on, but practically AFAIK it is not worth it. The reasons are:
        - you need custom brackets to fit them
        - calipers need to be of appropriate size so they fit to the disc thickness of 28mm (as with e36,e46 m3 floating discs)

The only calipers that fit with 'minimal work' are E31 840Ci 4-piston brembo calipers. They are lightweight, appropriately sized and can work with e46 m3 discs without any special mounts. I'm in the progress of installing them but didn't receive all the parts yet, but will write a review when done.

I do not want any custom brackets to fit them. only p&p :)

          i have OEM disc (315mm, 28mm - Z3M/E36 M3).

you are sure that only fit from E31? E38 3.5 have brembo calibers whith disc 316mm 28mm

Yes, scroll down here and you will find this explanation:

            http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1444889

Here is the main reason why E38 brakes won't fit: Distance between mounting holes in E38 carriers are about 10 mm shorter than in E34/E32/E31! I don't know which engineer at bmw did it, but I think it's the same person who mistyped the E39 hub diameter, designed the cupholders and cooling system. What an arse lol

              ok, tnx!

calipers from E31 fit with OEM 315mm 28mm disc? or only disc from E46 M3?

                  I found this solution:
                  http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=203668

calipers from E32 750, ATE fit with OEM disc 315mm

Interesting, obviously it has different mounting holes. The calipers are then the same as E34 M5 3.8, which is sadly not so good - made of steel and twice as heavy as alu calipers of 840ci (6.1kg vs 3.2kg brembo).

You are right on that one, I had luck getting used ones. But on the other hand, you can buy new calipers for not much more than the price of used units + rebuild. I can get them for 750€ both calipers without pads.

So... I have the calipers and discs waiting to mount. Still need pads (ebc ndx), so it will take some time before fitting.

                          Just sharing the picz ;)

I bought 2 pairs of E38 Calipers from 7.40 and 7.50 and they didn't fit "the bolt distances were different". You can buy Porsche Boxster-S Calipers and it will be a nice upgrade. Just check Rallyroad.net they have cool solutions ;)
