  • Halfords waterproof cover

Has anyone bought a halfords waterproof cover and can advise on the best size? Have compared the size of the car to the dimensions listed but wanted to check as the cover I bought for a previous z3 roadster was too large (medium size)

I bought one four years ago, medium size. It's been fine, although it did try to fly off on a couple of occasions - it sort of rotates round the car and also exposes the rear. Maybe I didn't tighten it sufficiently... After a while, the cover ripped slightly, in both locations where the straps are attached. I replaced it last year, with one from Hamilton Classic, apparently specific to the MC. It doesn't appear to be overly tailored though, despite the £100 extra from the Halfords version.

My OEM Noah cover just arrived - I shipped it over from the US and all in (inc duty) it cost just under £150
The bad news is that I've just looked on their website and the price has gone from the $132 that I paid, up to $153 so you may need to budget more like £165.

It's nice though - fully tailored 3 layer fabric elasticated at both ends and with sewn in wing mirror cosies. Also has 2 eyelets which you can pull a bungee under the middle of the car.
They also helpfully print it with BMW on the bonnet to help you find the car in amongst all the other priceless classics in your garage.

        Is that an outdoor cover?
I'd want it as plain as possible as I have to keep mine on the street at the moment... a lack of logo would be better!

May be too late on this.

Get the Halfords Advanced cover in Medium.

Fits the Coupe perfectly leaving nothing uncovered yet with nothing trailing on the ground.

                Staff discount also helps

I'd advise unscrewing the aerial from its base - as I did when I used a cover. This takes about 10 seconds tops! I've seen the thicker rubber bottom section of these aerials crack in the past due to bending when the rubber has become old and dozed.
