  • I'm going carbon!

So after lots of waiting, I collected this today:

Hoping to trial fit it over the weekend, order a filter for it after some measuring and then in the long term look into getting an Alpha-N map sorted before fitting.

Cannot wait to hear the noise this is going to make.

You could run it without the maf as the standard map will revert to a default mode. I did a fast road run without the maf connected. You will get an engine light on the dash but that will reset itself a few miles after the maf is reconnected.

          Interesting Jonttt.

I had read about the car having a 'failsafe' alpha-n map built-in, but just assumed it would be almost undriveable.

I've got INPA & DIS if I need to clear any engine lights or codes.

              These people:
              http://www.verbundfasertechnik-opitz...-mercedes-amg/

Took about 3 weeks to arrive, they make them to order using original s50 inlet trumpets.

They also offer s50 airboxes with the MAF sensor integrated into the end which I hadn't seen before.

Beautiful - do keep us infiormed. And let me know if you want me to recommend an Alpha N tuner.

Sorry man, completely forgot to post this video here i took after the first fit a week ago.

Drives really nicely on the regular map without the maf present. Having said that, i did have an evolve remap done last year which may be helping things.

Pictures are in the induction/airbox thread of tech discussion.

Thanks Tom. I read the other thread now - looks tempting.
