    £35k for a 43k car? Seems too low to me ! Seller should have waited to the summer to get more. Then again, as recent owner I'm very biased :-)

      ...well known car which has only come back to the market due to its owner now having two of the breed.
      I never knew I owned a dog!

      Isn't it weird how a few magazines saying potential future classic and now specialist dealers buying in to them and the price has rocketed, a 43k S-plate might have been about £16k 2 or 3years ago.

        2 years ago I sold 3 60k S50/2s for £16k. That is the reality of the market place now based on people buying them. But, as always stated. No two cars are the same. There are dogs out there for the same money or a little less which I have inspected and turned away. Infact, I was offered 3 other S50s last week.

        Colours like Yellow will always be worth less as their appeal is smaller and they are slower to sell.

        If you see the start of this initial tread this example was advertised at a lot more money from DP and is now on SOR with me.

          Hi KnightsG , can you tell me what you are finding on these S50's in order that you turn them away, i'm interested what to be looking for as i'm currently in the market to buy and am looking at a prospective purchase

            Any evidence of the money spent to get it up to scratch other than a set of tyres?

              Scream1 - Upon inspection I find a few weaknesses which i have listed, not all mind you.

              Rust from all arches, inc sills and underside
              Hairline cracks surrounding the diffs
              Leaky shocks
              Tracking out
              Damage to under-trays
              Diff Leaking
              Bonnet catch not effective
              Belts Perished
              Noisy Engines
              Seat bushes perished
              Oil Leaks from sump
              Most bushes perished
              Bad paint paint - either previous poor repairs or in need or a good detail
              Gear lever sitting in 5th - springs gone
              Clutch weak
              Scuffed bolsters
              Power steering fluid leaks


              I can go on...
