  • Brake calipers colour

So I got my coupe back from the garage today, rear drivers side caliper was binding so the garage had it sent away to get refurbished and.... it's come back gold (I wasnt expecting it painted at all) So I now have 3 working calipers which need painting and one refurbished gold one.

The cars just been tucked up for the winter so I have time to think about what I want to do but wondered if anyone has the photo of the original colour brake caliper? I remember seeing one ages ago but can't find it, it was a kind of light gold colour I think but can't be sure.

Also wondered if the colour was the same on the s50 and s54?

My painted caliper seems a bit too gold and maybe stands out a little more than I'd like as the car is steel grey so I think black would be the safest bet but if the gold is close enough to the oem look then I'm happy with that and will just get the other 3 done the same.

    What would others do?

Thanks in advance for any help

Pretty sure they were black on both the S50 and S54

It's quite common for a new caliper to have a gold-bronze colour to it - it's likely the bare metal and will dull quickly.

From time to time I just give mean a quick spray of matt black.
