  • ACS Coilovers -- First Drive Impressions...

    Evening all,

Completed the ACS coilover + Strong Strut installation this weekend:

    - Fitted ACS coilover suspension kit
    - Fitted ACS aluminium collars/washers to the rear subframe bushes.
    - Fitted 7.5mm rear spring pads to provide acceptable road clearance.
    - Fitted 'Strong Strut' front upper and 'Butt Strut' rear lower braces.
    - Retained OEM front and rear top-mounts to minimise cabin NVH.
    - Set front-rear ride-height pitch to 12mm (front to rear wheel CL).

Just been out for the first 'proper' drive, initial impressions are taut/reponsive body control with a comfortable supple ride quality. Excellent!

Body movement is significantly improved (esp pitch and dive when getting on, or backing off the gas), and the turn-in is much more direct and linear without the usual delay or 'float'.

Thinking ahead, the next steps could involve; improving the steering (2.8 rack plus reinforced wishbone bushes); and maybe the front and rear sway bars (Eibach or H&R, hmmmmmm?).

Either way, dead chuffed; a great car now even better !

Well done Will. Bet you love driving the car even more now!

H&R anti roll bars would certainly complement the set up you've now got!
