  • Brake Fluid

    Hi All,

This has gone round and round I know, but I am fitting new lines and pagid blue pads so going to put swanky new fluid in. Anyone used this and have good or bad feedback? Or other recommendations.....?

I've got AP 5.1 in mine. Works fine, but then again, I never had any trouble with the standard fluid - it was always the pads that cooked first.

i've always used Castrol Super Response Dot4.

Uber high boiling point and great response.

I am currently running yellow stuff pads and ebc discs

I use the rf 600 with my porsche calipers and it has been spot on.

Any DOT 5.1 is worth putting in as it's high spec and easily available. Or you can go onto the fluid Chippy mentions or the ultimate which is Castrol SRF.

Ok cheers all, SRF is a bit pricey for my liking...blimey!

Can get the RF600 for £28 from Camskill so may give it a go.

And totally over the top for normal road / track day use.

the RF600 worked well for me.

                Alternatively get some halfords 5.1.

In my experience DOT 5.1 is fine for more or less all situations including trackdays. I don't really rate Super DOT 4 mainly because I've found it not as good as any old DOT 5.1 that you can buy. My 205GTi would boil it's fluid at every trackday using DOT or Castrol Super DOT 4, I switched to Comma 5.1 and it fixed it.

I've never boiled the fluid in the Coupe either and have always used DOT 5.1

opie oils do it for £14 a litre the motul rbf 600 stuff

looks like the boiling point is 30 degrees highers that the castrol super response i currently use, so will give the RBF a go when its time to change.

Its £14 for 500ml so by the time I add postage to it the cost is 31 quid..... Not a lot of cash in the scheme of things but not sure if its worth it over some standard 5.1 from Helfrauds...
