  • Bentley continental ?

Any one owned one of these?
I've previously ignored these due to the footballer image
But my sons had a few in over the last few weeks
And I'm toying with the idea
Seriously quick n comfy cars but they ban drink like George best
But being a W12 twin turbo what would you expect
    Any known issues or problems?

I read that you need a healthy maintenance budget for one of these. Might not be an issue for you as you're in the trade but put me off a bit when I was considering one.

One of these was on my "maybe" list a while ago. Reason I scratched from list was reading too many horror stories of maintenance costs, even basic costs like brakes were ridiculous.

On the positive side they do look good and running one will make your coupe feel incredible value........

            Old man had one.

I kept it for a bit whilst selling it and frankly I felt like a bell end driving it around - definitely suffers from an image problem unless you are over 50...

On that note, his was under warranty and luckily really as the dampers went (on a car with 14k miles) and the quotes were eye watering!

If your son can service it great but depends which end of the market you are looking at.

Early ones are now 13 years old and in the hands of poser types who service them at backstreet garages....

I'm not sold on the styling, just looks too bulbous to me.

Bentley's styling seems to be that it must be so OTT/bad they're good, like the Bentayga - hideous!!! I did laugh when Rory Read suggested one for Jay Kay and he just laughed saying he wouldn't be seen dead in one. Engine/drivetrain and interiors probably cannot be beat though.

              Aston Martin much nicer IMO!

                Bentayga is one ugly car

Agreed on the image thing that's why I didn't like them but all the footballers seemed to have moved on

Might have a look at the Astons too

TBH. I don't really need another car just fancy something different

My friends garage gets a lot over here

Problem 0ne a vacuum hose fails giving rough running, its an engine out job to replace

front diff seal leaks, again engine out job

they have done so many they have made a jig to drop the front subframe

Decent bit of kit when it goes
