  • R Hellenbrand tell us more!

I am interested in buying a carbon airbox but would like to know more about the gains and the way the car runs with this fitted.

I have heard the car will idle rough and be hard too drive in traffic?

A video of the car ticking over and revving would be great.

    dyno sheets too!

I know you posted this but we have lost some infor recently.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Witch Z3M are you talking about the S50B32 or the S54 engine.

On the S54 ones, we get a very good gain with only our airbox and alpha-n program.
    Here a graph from a Z3M S54.

    www.macmotoren.de/fotos/z3m_s54_leistung.jpg

Did drive the car before and afterwards, and can tell you it was a real difference!

On the S50 ones there are 2 options.
One with airbox and absorber silencers.

The second option is, airbox, silencers and sport cams.
Drive this kit on my own z3m now for 30.000km without problems.

We did trim the kit for torque and not so on peek HP, torque is what the customer feels not HP!
We also can trim on Hp and gain 10hp after 7500rpm but losing 30Nm over the complete torque band under 7500, makes none sense!
These cars will get around 345-355 hp depends on the condition from the engine (torque kit).
Note that the S50 only have around 300Hp in stock condition!

Problem is that we have to adjust every can individual in our company.
The adjustment only will take 2 days (with cams change, silencers and airbox around a week)

The idle on 2e option is a little lumpy, but very good usable on the street, drive mine car every day.

    Hope this helps,
    Ron Hellenbrand

        Thanks for the info Ron!

I have a an S50 and I am very interested but I would find it hard to get my car to you!

I may be going to the nurburgring later this year, how far is this from you?

I am thinking about buying your airbox and getting the car mapped over here.

Can you tell me which spec cams you went for?

Do you also use super sprint silencers?

        Thanks

            Hi Lee,

We are located in Aldenhoven, this is very near to Aachen.
Think if you are driving to the ring, you will pass Aachen!

Distance from us to the ring is about 100km.

We use supersprint silencers, the only ones witch works!
            Cams are Schick.

Do you have a decent tuner witch can map your car.
From our experience, there are just very little tuners how are capable to map the mss50 DME decent.

            B3N
Don’t know this, never tried cams on a S54 Z3.
But can tell you that cams react very well on the S54 race engines we are currently developing.
The airbox alone is already a huge difference!

Thanks Tony! this could be a good idea if I do not make it myself!

              Ron

I know a very good tuner to re map the car.

I am very interested to get the Airbox from you!

Can you please pm me a price for the airbox alone!

              Thanks you

                Ron,

What is special about the design of Supersprint silencers that make it the only exhaust system to work? Or is it just a "straight-through" design?

                  Hi,

                  They are absorber silencers.
Other brands only make reflector dampers.

Absorber type have lower back pressure, this is why they perform better then reflector ones.

Supersprint is expensive but you get quality!
They do test all designs before they put it on the market.
If they say it will bring performance (graph), it real does!
