"I saw this and thought of you."

    http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/

Good for specs and build dates, but doesn't give any info on numbers built.

Turns out my luggage net is missing, presumed half inched by prior owners.

    Also, what is this?

Ah, thanks Jon. I was wondering whether I'd doubled up when I fitted my isolator switch!

Someone on another forum has gone one stage further, and seems to have a better VIN decoder, but he won't reveal the source!

          About mine:

It is the 65th Z3MC made.
There were 7 cars made on 1998-08-21
The most rare option on your car is the option 999. It was installed on 43 out of 821 cars.
There were 46 1998-2000 BMW Z3 M Coupe (CM92) - RHD painted in Imola Red 2 (405) with Imola Red + Black Nappa Leather (Q6IM) interior.
I have no idea what the option S999A means.

Found somewhere that it refers to a dealer demo car?

There are various threads on how to get the build sheet.

See here for the Z3m roadies RHD.

                        http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewt...hp?f=6&t=34517

The USA ones can do it a different way as someone wrote a script to extract the data from the BMW database but its not been done for non USA cars.

                          but doesnt give dates/numbers etc.

You reckon he's making it up then? Or maybe he's a BMW employee or something?
