When I did mine with original BMW PKR7A plugs I checked each one and confirmed they were set exactly correct straight out of the box which confirmed no adjustments required.

Thanks Ace. I was wondering if anyone new the correct spacing for the plug. I went with plug recommended on the forum but want to check the spacing is correct before I put them in.

0.7mm according to this data sheet on page 21 for the PKR7A plugs in the S50.

S54 plugs are not listed presumably factory set.

Update -

So the plugs had oil in the top. Took the Z3 into the garage and suggested the valve cover gasket was leaking. Sure enough it was. Once replaced the car feels so much smoother :)
