You mean the main bushes either side of the car, or the differential bush?

I used a 24" breaker bar to remove the large nut #6, I think its difficult to replace the main bearing without removing the whole rear beam? and or haven't the correct tools

Even when you get that nut off they are a real bitch to get out without the proper bush tool. If the nut is really stuck then you could also back out the stud and strand yourself. IMO get ML to do it like I did. They charged me 2.5 hours.

I think this is the type of tool used by BMW for removal/fitting the bushes

Some heat and a breaker bar then. Hope it goes well.

Plus a cheater bar/tube - piece of scaffold tube, just wear safety gloves so if you slip no skinned knuckles.

                              Good luck.

I fitted powerflex bushes (actually cheated and local garage fitted them ;-), i'm fairly sure they ended up dropping the whole rear beam. Also replaced the four rear wishbone bushes at the same time ( which were very tired.....). Along with new shocks absolutely transformed the rear end
