  • X20 plug pin locations (engine loom to car loom plug)

Does anyone have a list of what each pin does in the X20 plug (the one next to the fuse box that the engine harness plugs into)

I am having a few problems with mine, looks like the Z3M loom is different to the M3 :(

Google may help but most repsonses appear to say that you'll need to go through the X20 one by one.

      Engine wiring help needed

When I turn the ignition on now the engine will turn over and the idle control valve is making a noise (like it used to in my old car), its just not firing and the fuel pump isn’t switching on.

22 fan (ebox), oil level, reverse light, oxeygen sensor green/white
      23 oil pressure brown/green
      24 not used ---
      25 alternator blue/yellow

Engine Loom (Engine Side of the X20 plug, M3 S50B30)

      1 --- ---
      2 --- black/red
      3 --- ---
      4 ac compressor control black/blue

      6 climate control module violet/grey
      7 starter immobilization relay green

      12 engine coolant temp 2 brown/violet
13 oxygen sensor, fuel pump relay green/violet
      14 speed out black/white

      23 oil pressure brown/green
      24 instrument cluster white/black
      25 alternator blue

I’ve moved the following pins locations on the engine side of the connector to bring them in line with the coupe side

Pin 9 has moved to pin 1
Pin 14 has moved to pin 9

This leaves pin 14 empty, does anyone know what I need to connect to this (I am hoping this is the issue that’s causing the fuel pump not to work)

The only other pin I am a bit unsure about is pin 15

Any help is appreciated as I am slowly losing enthusiasm with the car now after weeks of messing with wires and not getting anywhere.

Absolutely no idea with the electrics I'm sorry, but just mentioning the complete new wiring loom (post 04/99) on eBay in case it's of any help and you haven't already spotted it:

(though I'm sure the last thing you want to do is completely strip the car to fit a complete loom)
Not actually in the least bit fat

thanks for that, haha nah don't fancy taking everything back out the car to fit the loom, i am hoping i'll be able to do all the mods i need to the engine loom then i can always save up and put a 3.2 back in at a later date.
