  • Pollen/cabin filter location

    Hi there,

I have a '99' S50 & would like to change the above filter if I can find it!!
I assume there is one as it has (working) air con.
No mention in the Bentley Manual which leaves me a bit perplexed??
Some online suppliers quote them & some don't.
I'm sure someone on the forum knows where it is hiding (if anywhere?)

    Cheers,
    Howard

There isn't one, hence why the car gets so dusty on the dash!

When I first go out in the car, I have a habit of setting the blowers to feet giving them a blast so any dust that comes through just goes on the carpet rather in my face or on the dash!

Cheers for that, thought so just didn't believe it.
          One less expense I guess.
I also own a 1997 fiesta Ghia (1.25 zetec), it doesn't have aircon but it DOES have a pollen filter.
Old Henry's motors can still show the 'prestige' crowd a thing or two then.

I read somewhere that a pollen filter wasn't added as the car was originally designed as a convertible - not sure if this is true or not but I wonder if a Z8 has a filter?

Ah, now that would make sense.
Seems there may just be a method in the madness then?

I'd imagine it does as it was a much higher spec car and probably shares all the E39 bulkhead bits.

I reckon BMW just omitted it on the Z3 as it was originally designed as a budget roadster [even though the E36 on which it's based would have had one]
